CodiCo Dispatch allows you to require an optional card deposit when the customer chooses Cash as the payment method.
The deposit can be configured as either a fixed amount or a percentage of the booking price.
For example, a customer books a €100 airport transfer and chooses Cash.
You can require a 20% card deposit at the time of booking. The customer pays €20 by card and pays the remaining €80 in cash directly to the driver.
The deposit option can also be disabled when you do not need it.
This gives you flexibility to decide when cash bookings should require a deposit and when they can remain fully payable in cash.
The process is simple:
1. Customer chooses Cash
The customer selects Cash as the payment method when making the booking.
2. Deposit is requested
If the deposit option is enabled, CodiCo asks the customer to pay the configured deposit by card.
3. Booking is confirmed
The booking records the deposit and the remaining amount that needs to be collected.
4. Driver collects the balance
The customer pays the remaining amount in cash directly to the driver.
This allows you to keep the convenience of cash payments while reducing the financial risk associated with completely unpaid bookings.
